Deerbrook Marina Honoured With a
Canadian Safe Boating Award!



Deerbrook Marina was honoured with a Canadian Safe Boating Award for continuing to maintain an environmentally friendly marina. Al and Linda were awarded CASBA at a gala in January. The staff at Deerbrook Marina work very hard each year to maintain this high standard. Congratulations to Al, Linda and the entire staff at Deerbrook Marina.

Since Deerbrook Marina opened in 1999, they made every effort to ensure the environment has been maintained. Through their efforts of fully training their staff and maintaining and improving the marina and the surrounding area the Ontario Marine Operators Association and the CLEAN MARINE PROGRAM has awarded Deerbrook Marina with highest award of 5 Anchors. Only 12 other marinas in Ontario have this distinguished honour.

Special Events

Throughout the season there are a lot of special events here at Deerbrook Marina. Thus far, we were pleased to have hosted the Coast Guard courtesy safety inspection weekend, a kids fishing day and some great cook-outs too.
Deerbrook Marina is located in the heart of the best bass, walleye, perch and muskie fishing areas in Lake St. Clair.

June

June 7 -8: Deerbrook Marina will once again hold the Safe Boating Weekend. The folks from the Windsor Power Squadron will be on hand all weekend to let you write your boating exam. They will also have a class so you will be ready to write the exam. You can drop in and Challenge the test between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm if you wish. If possible call Deerbrook ahead of time so they will have some idea of how many people to expect. Remember everyone will be required to have this card for the 2009 season. If you haven't got yours this would be good time to get it!

The Canadian Coast Guard, Ontario Provincial Police Marine Division and Transport Canada will be doing free boat inspections and will assist you in selecting the safety devices you will need for the season.

Canada Customs will be available to discuss the NEXUS system and crossing into the United States by water and what is required from you to do so.

Lake Shore Fire Department (Unit #4) will be on site to collect your old flares and to do fire extinguisher demos. If your flares have expired please come out and drop them off!

Did you know that on the weekend of July 4^th you can fish without having to buy an Ontario Fishing Licence? (Click on the icon on the left to get more information)

On Sunday July 6^th Deerbrook Marina will once again host their Kids Fishing Derby. Call the Marina for more information and sign up for this fun day!!
